JOHN 21:7-14

7 Then the disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, "It's the Master!" When Simon Peter realized that it was the Master, he threw on some clothes, for he was stripped for work, and dove into the sea.
8 The other disciples came in by boat for they weren't far from land, a hundred yards or so, pulling along the net full of fish.
9 When they got out of the boat, they saw a fire laid, with fish and bread cooking on it.
10 Jesus said, "Bring some of the fish you've just caught."
11 Simon Peter joined them and pulled the net to shore — 153 big fish! And even with all those fish, the net didn't rip.
12 Jesus said, "Breakfast is ready." Not one of the disciples dared ask, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Master.
13 Jesus then took the bread and gave it to them. He did the same with the fish.
14 This was now the third time Jesus had shown himself alive to the disciples since being raised from the dead.

Kate's Notes:  (One Year With Jesus)....Impetuous Peter jumped out of the boat and swam to the shore when he realized that it was Jesus on the beach. Clearly he wanted to talk to Jesus and to experiance Jesus' forgiveness.

WILLINGNESS TO SERVE

In thei beach scene, Jeus would lead Peter through an experiance that would remove the cloud of his denial. Peter had denied Jesus three times. Three times Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him. Peter had repented, and here Jesus was sking him to commit to His life. Peter's life changed when he finally realized who Jesus was. His occupation changed from fisherman to evangelist; his identity changed from impetuous to "rock"; and his relationship to Jesus changed-he was forgiven, and he finally understood the significance of Jesus' words about His death and resurrection. It is one thing to say you love Jesus, but the real test is willingness to serve Him.
