Once a Victim - Now a Victor

I attended a faith based 15 month drug and alcohol treatment center -- then attended an aftercare program of two years which was a ministry school and in this time I learned that I was no longer a victim of what life had brought me. I was a child of God who loves me beyond what words could imprint in your imagination. Below is a scripture Ps 103:1-6 (from NLT and Message Bible) that I has stood out to me in times of trouble or turmoil and I keep returning to it with lots of my life's struggles. These words have brought me comfort in all situations from horrible memories of the past to misunderstandings among myself and friends. This scripture reads:

I praise the Lord I tell myself with my whole heart I will praise His Holy Name -- Praise the Lord I tell myself and never for get the things He has done for me. For He has forgiven me of all my sins. He has ransomed me from death and surround me with love and tender mercies. God fills my life with good things and renews my youth like the eagles. God makes everything come out right and He puts victims back on their feet.

I once was a victim of life's circumstances but by the power of the Lord I am a victor as I stand on His side. I am able to have confidence where there was none. I am gaining a renewed mind and release of what the enemy tried to put on me from the nasty past of sexual abuse. I am His Beloved and true disciple as what my name means.

I have difficult decisions facing me within the next week and I am going to stand on this Word and I am going to Believe that what ever the out come is I am His. -- I can be love as He is love and as He is in me.

Here I AM Lord. You too are a victor with Christ. Are there areas in your life that you are struggling in today that you need to let go and allow Him to heal and renew? If so talk, share and allow Him to renew and refresh.

Purification Through Sunlight

Purification through the Sunlight - A promise from God.
The Lord loves us so much and in that love He fulfills all promises to us and for us. He is willing to lift us up to the sun and help us scrap away the flaws in us that are not who we are or what we were created to be.

Sickness, a Blessing?.......

11/29/2012, 2:38 PM

Sickness - A blessing not a curse . . . .?

I have recently been sick with the flu, in fact just this past week. It came on rather quickly and not expectantly. Not that we expect to get sick but sometimes there are warning signs along the way to help you prepare just a tad. I guess that is the how Jesus describes the thief that comes in the night and how we need to be prepared for spiritual attacks at all times

To Forgive is to LOVE or not to Forgive is HATRED

Forgiveness is a choice. Forgiveness is the an ultimate act of loving another person. Forgiveness is a command if we want to be forgiven of our own negative actions--sins. Matthew states that Jesus said that if we forgive then we will be forgiven by our heavenly Father.

Matthew 6:12-15

New King James Version (NKJV)
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.[a]
14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Quick----Surrender to Wait on the Lord.

Wait on the Lord -- what does this mean? Why do I want to wait and how do I wait if I choose to wait?

I was in a year long faith based drug and alcohol treatment center and many times we would laugh as staff would want us to hurry so that we could wait to go to our given destination. It became joke but at first it was difficult for me because I would get extremely mad and incorrigible toward my fellow roommates because I could not understand their lack of respect by showing up late--or when staff would not have their act together, not realizing what stress they may have underwent right before coming down to shuttle us to our next event. Thus they were all bad and I did not like them. Thank God that God is not like that with us as my attitude toward others was a horrible judgment. In this I learned that in order to be in a place of rest and peace during the wait I had to surrender my controlling need to be on time and learn to accept that others are not so punctual as myself and it simply is ok.

What song are you singing?

I have been attending a training the last couple of weeks and one of their goals for the students it to have them review how they communication on a relational ship basis so they can be more loving to others.

In this training one of the trainers told this story:

'A missionary was visiting a tribe in Africa and he noticed that the tribe sang many worships songs pertaining to rain. The missionary asked the tribal leader why they sang so many songs pertaining to rain and the leader stated it was because they did not receive much rain. It was very scarce so rain was something that was on their mind a lot because of the lack of it. Then the tribal leader with a puzzled yet serious look on his face, looked straight into the eyes of the missionary and told him that he had visited the United States before and noticed that Americans sang a lot of songs on Love. Does that mean you from the United States do not have much love?'

Expectations -- Cant Afford a Negative Thought

I recently went on a trip to Atlanta GA with my soon to be husband. We had planned a number of fun things and was full of great anticipation that FUN we would have. The reason for the trip was because I was going to purchase a car from one of his good friends. I had planned to get off from my job at 2:00pm so that I would have time to get to the bank, make a deposit and transfer monies over. Well, expectation one -- morning meeting ran late. Negative thought one began to formulate it self within the crevices of my mind as 'why could we not have started on time to get out on time'. But I quickly adjusted and allowed certain items that could wait till next week go so I could still get out early.

When do we . . . . .????----We are able . . .!!!

When do we listen? When do we be still? When do we speak? When do we hope? When do we understand? When do we use wisdom? When do we love? When do we be gentle? When do we be strong? When do we be kind?

Good Morning Lord.

-provokes Mourning, a shedding of the old--BUT--provokes HOPE, an excitement for the NEW to come-

I have been told many times if you are not moving forward you are going backwards. Moving forward takes shape in many forms but a change is a necessity in progressing forward. We are in a time of change. The wave is moving forward. The essence of the Spirit is moving and guiding us into His glory--with that change. Old must be shed -- gone and dead -- for the new -- His glory to rise up within us. It will be seen. It will be known by all. Will I be on board? You betch ya!!! Will you?

In all of this thought wrapped around change -- I am forced to remember when I choose to come to MN almost 5 years ago now. I was on a road to death. The suicide was planned and was set in motion. The interruption to this plan was the famous prayer I prayed when I arrived from work at my home in the small town I grew up in Nebraska on a Tuesday afternoon. My prayer was "Lord if you really are real--You had better do something because if this is what sobriety is all about I do not want anything to do with it." I had a full pledged plan to kill myself on Friday morning. I had failed in the past , failing at life at this point and I was not going to fail again. But wait -- my prayer was heard -- On Thursday afternoon my AA sponsor and husband had an intervention with me and on Friday morning instead of following through with the suicide plan I was making provisions to move to MN to attend Minnesota Teen Challenge -- now known as Mn Adult and Teen Challenge. This is a faith based drug and alcohol treatment center that accepted me even though I had been sober for 3 years but spiritually I was dead. The Lord heard my cries and delivered me. As I reflect back I can remember that 'relief' I felt in preparing and then positioning myself to come -- it was HOPE!!!   For with out hope the heart is deferred the Lord says. It is amazing the path way God provided for me to get to the program. It has been even more amazing as the old has been gradually shedding off these last few years. He heard my cries and delivered me of ALL my FEARS.

When I came into the program and I realized just how safe I was -- I could really cry and allow the mourning of the past to run its course so that I could begin to heal and let the light of God shine. Through positioning myself, allowing correction and then being obedient God's love is coming forth. A seed we all have but in me it was now sprouting.   What joy and what excitement!!

I am now in a position similar where I am now getting ready and positioning myself for another large life change. I am getting married. As I have cried my tears the last few days -- I can see that the old way or little girl has matured into a woman ready -- ready to be one with the Lord in a whole new way and with a man of His choosing.

There are other changes taking place -- this moving forward in the waters -- riding the wave -- glory is not just coming - IT IS HERE!!! Are you ready? Are you standing in one place -- starting to move backwards?

Pray -- He hears your cry.

Take action - position yourself -- He will deliver you.

HOPE, MERCY AND GRACE resides deep within as you realize that-- He has heard your cries and He has delivered you -- and delivered you of ALL of YOUR FEARS!!!!
