I woke up early one morning and this message was rolling around in me! This seldom happens unless the Lord is really trying to get something across to me.  I let it flow and this is the message He gave me.

There is Power in your words!  I said, there is Power in your words! Your voice is a POWERFUL instrument in warfare! (Whisper) You can ask God for results, (LOUDLY), or you can ask for results!

When you open your mouth to praise God, when you sing praises, when you pray praises, you get results
.  I can cry and whine and throw fits, but God won't give me an inch with all that fussy stuff!  He wants me to release THE POWER He put in me.

David knew that power
; he knew that power when he fled from his son, Absalom, in Psalms 3, with a Morning Prayer of trust in God, in Psalms 4, he prayed and Evening Prayer of trust in God.  In Psalms 5, he prayed for protection from the wicked.  All through the Psalms he prayed in trust and he got results!  God didn't let him down at all.

David got results when he went up against Goliath with a few stones and a sling! David RAN up to goliath!  He said,"Who is this uncircumcised man"?  He lifted up the name of God and that giant of a man came crashing down when David released that one stone and he cut the head from that giant!  Then, He carried that ugly thing around!

We have that same power, but we have to OPEN our mouths and let it flow out of us! For so long I prayed in my head, I think quicker than I speak, that way my mouth didn't interrupt me.   One day I realized that I wasn't getting results anymore and I heard His Spirit say to me, now it is time to learn to speak those words out loud.  Bummer!  I still think better than I speak, but when I learned to open up and let my words out, the results came.  Maybe not as quickly as I wanted them to, but His time is better than my time!

I have a cousin in that has been going through the fire with her husband for years.  He is very heavily into porn and every time she confronts him with the things she finds, he denies it and then while she runs errands he destroys her things that are precious to her.  She started putting sticky notes on some of the things that read, "Please don't hurt this any further, God will get you for it".  He left those things alone after that, but on the next confrontation he destroyed old family photos.  All for the sake of his sin, which he declares not sin?

We talked for several hours and then we prayed.  When I asked her if she knew there was power in her words, she told me of a song she had been singing that morning, an old song from the show Heehaw, Gloom, Despair, and Agony.   The words go like this:

Gloom despair and agony on me

Deep dark depression, excessive misery

If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all

Gloom despair and agony one me.

(Then the singer would go into a really pitiful story.)

I told her I didn't think that was a song of faith but she told me she had a different view of it that morning. I told her about the power of words spoken but her answer was that God looks at the heart, and of course He does, but I believe our songs and words also have cause and effect.

Matthew 12: 34 -36    Brood of vipers!  How can you, being evil, speak good things?  For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.  A good man out of the treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the treasure brings forth evil things.   NKJV

Be bold, but not obnoxious!  To overcome the power of darkness, you have to Know the Light! The Light is who? ...Jesus!  Without a relationship with Him, there is no power, which power lies in the relationship you have in Christ, in the Anointed Savior.  Get in the Word of God, hug that book close to you and love on it!  Speak the words of David; the Psalms are full of blessings of God!  He came to rescue David over and over again.  Get in there and find out how David spoke to God!  My cousin, bless her heart, has a way of speaking to God that cracks me up.  She just stands still, looks up to the heavens and her cute little voice says, "Lord, You know I can't do this alone, you know how flaky my mind is sometimes, I can't even fall down without thinking twice about it....Laughs.....But greater is He that is in me than he who is in the world"!

My message to you and me is this: Learn how to speak to your father in heaven! Don't be idle and a do nothing as I have been for the past several months.  Learn to ask boldly and humbly for your deliverance.   Learn from David and the Disciples, delve in there and learn the Word of God.  Get into relationship with Him.  He loves us and cares about us and He will never leave us as long as we are His!  Laugh with Him, cry with Him, and Surrender all you have to Him.

Praying is not just talking, it can be a song in your heart, it can be praising Him, and it can just be you telling Him what is on your mind and in your heart.  He listens, He cares, He wants to help, and it's His nature.

SPEAK to Him and anticipate His good response.
